French schools and courses

Our French teachers in Paris and our partner guides

Vacances Actives Linguistiques has built strong relationships with French language schools in Paris famous for their consistency and high standard teaching. Our qualified and experienced French teachers give students a warm welcome in a comfortable set-up to boost their self-esteem. We select our partnership language schools for their modern learning environment, communication-based teaching and location in central Paris, near cultural activities and public transport.

All our guides and chauffeurs are certified to teach French as a foreign language and adapt their speech to suit all abilities. They’ve always got a smile on their faces and love to share their knowledge!

French lessons at our partner schools in Paris

Learn at your own pace and ability!

Students take a French level test at the start of the stay and decide how many lessons they want to take. French lessons are optional (check out our “cultural breaks”) and tend to be in the morning. Outings and activities take place in the afternoons.

Students receive their own course certificate stating their class attendance and the level they’ve achieved at the end of their course.

Your questions about language trips

1.How long should I study abroad in Paris to get the most out of the experience?

Vacances Actives Linguistiques recommends a minimum of ten days to get the most out of a language stay in Paris.
That gives learners enough time to adapt to the local culture and feel comfortable communicating in French. After 10-15 days, the group begins to bond with other students and they feel even more at ease speaking in French. Obviously, the longer they stay, the more learners improve their fluency, comprehension and cultural understanding. If you’re looking for complete immersion, spending at least a month in a host family is a golden opportunity to experience real life in Paris, visit the local monuments, soak up the culture and have time to explore, unearth hidden gems and see another side to the city!

What’s the best time of year for a study abroad experience in Paris?

Paris is always fascinating, no matter the time of year, but some periods are particularly good for a language stay. Springtime (March-June) brings warmer weather and longer days, ideal for exploring the city and spending time outdoors. Summer may be a prime time for tourists but it has a buzzing atmosphere with countless festivals and cultural events, which are perfect for practising your French in a range of situations. Autumn (September-November) is a great time too. There are fewer tourists, it’s still warm and gives learners a slice of real-life culture. Despite the cold, winter in Paris is a unique experience with the Christmas markets and local festivities. Every season has something to offer!

How do I get a good dose of culture during a language stay in Paris?

Paris is jam-packed full of cultural and heritage sites, covering every art form and historical period whether you’re into the Renaissance, Middle Ages, photography, sculpture or painting. There’s something for everyone, both outside and inside the city’s beautiful buildings. To get the most out of the capital’s culture, you must plan ahead and book your tours, especially if there’s a large group of you. You need to book over a month in advance for some museums, monuments and performances (plays, operas etc.): you can’t just turn up!
